I have a BX2230, and I was shoving some stumps with the box blade and the blade rolled up on the top of a stump and the top link screw that attaches to the blade bent just enough so I now cannot shorten the top link. I checked with the dealer and a new top link is $68 (they won't sell just the screw portion attaching to the implement, gotta buy a whole new top link). A New Holland top link is $27 but it is 4 inches longer than the little fellow that is standard with the BX tractors. Is there another alternative? It still works fine with the box blade, but it is to long for some other applications. Any suggestions? The dealer did not like me pushing with the box blade -- but you sure can't move stumps by pulling on it!

When I bent the top link on my JD 850 I got a replacement at Tractor Supply Co. for around $20.
Not sure if they carry the size you need for a BX. ....

When I had my BX I looked high and low for a replacement top link with no success.
The standard aftermarket links require serious grinding to fit between the flanges and are too long. Even the link that came on my BX was too long as was a Cat 0 link I modified.
I think you are stuck with Kubota replacement parts. ....

Better yet, get a hydraulic toplink. They are much stronger and you can easily adjust your box blade angle of attack when pushing with it. ....

How does a hydrolic top link set up on the little BX2230, does Kubota have them for the BX series? Is there an after market unit that will fit? What I have found out is the same as DRankin -- the Kubota top link is very different from domestic tractors. A cat 1 top link is to wide for the flange on the tractor, plus the barrels are to long from what I can find.

" Yes, there is a lot of talk and chat on the Internet. However, to this date, I haven't seen one actually installed on a B series tractor.
The product IS NOT recommend by any of the mfg.s for use on tractors this size (BX or B series).
The reasons seem to be:
1. increased likelihood for damages to tractor and implement lift and hitch
parts
2. the implements positioning on the TOP LINK is easy to reach and use
without the use of hydraulics
3. these size Kubota tractors do not have the remote valves
4. lack of demand from the shoppers in the market
Since the attachment is not recommended, and damages should happen to occur to the tractor ... the warranty issues maybe challenged and I cannot recommended that a customer take that important risk. Consequently, we do not offer them as an option at this time.
I would really appreciate a report from any customer that has installed one of the kits (on their own) as to satisfaction level after installing and using it a while.
We are open to adding and selling the option in the future (however a purchaser may need to sign a note concerning the warranty issues acknowledgment."

Well, that is very interesting. I have no experience with the BX series, but I have seen numerous small Bs with top-n-tilt setup, always aftermarket. You can get hydraulic toplinks of various open and closed lengths. They are not hard to make from general purpose hydraulic cylinders either. You have to weld on your swivel ends. Cat 1 swivel ends are available at any tractor supply. If the BX toplink bracket is too narrow for the swivels, then that is a different story. I don't know the range of swivel end widths available.
As for Carver's reasons #1-4, I do not buy any of them. ....

I have top-n-tilt on my 7800, and wouldn't be without it. It isn't from a kit, I put it together myself. I am surprised by the comment that it isn't recommneded by the manufacturers, since there are remote kits available from the manufacturers for the B-series tractors. I have had several conversations with sales representatives about the set up on my machine, and no-one ever commented that it wasn't recommended.
I can uderstand some concern about a hydraulic top link, and the possibility of over stressing the top link bracket, but that would be difficult to do under normal use.
Interesting comment, I still wouldn't be without mine. I'm going to do some more checking around for other commnets about this. ....

Go to rankineqco.com, under vendors click: Rankin and you will find a heading for Tn'T kits.
If you have a BX 22 or 23 you already have the power beyond installed. ....
